Meet Our Artist... Gailya Keller
|
I
am a native of Franklin County and have lived here my entire life. I
attended local schools until the 6th grade when I started attending
Lighthouse Christian Academy. I left there in the 10th grade to home
school myself through the American School Correspondence Course. I have
always loved to read and am never very far from a book or two. I do not
know of a time which I did not have the intense desire to write books
like the ones I so love to read. I felt I needed to write but didn’t
know how to start or what to do with what I had written. I decided to
take a children’s writing course to help me find direction. I received
my Diploma for the course of study of Writing for Children and Teenagers
with the Institute of Children’s Literature. I have written poems and
have 5 posted online at Poetry.com, one of which was printed in their
anthology. I received an Editor’s Choice Award for one of my poems in
September of 2001. I still have a love of poetry and enjoy composing
what comes to mind. I look forward to finding out what books I still
have to discover in me. | |
